Appointment scheduling is available through Jane App, a Canadian practice management platform. By booking an appointment through Jane App, you agree to complete the required intake forms, including the consent to receive appointment reminders by SMS and email through Goldie, our appointment reminder service. Jane App collects your booking, intake, and payment information securely in accordance with Canadian privacy law. Payment for psychological services is handled directly with our practice, either in person or by invoice. No payment card information is collected through this Website or Jane App's booking portal.
10. Fees and Cancellation Policy
Current session fees are listed on our website. Session fees are subject to change with reasonable notice.
Missed appointments or late cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice) fee is half of your appointment fee. We accept on-site payments using Square, which conveniently accepts credit cards and debit cards.
11. Online and Telehealth Services
Patterson Counselling Services offers psychological services via Jane App's secure, encrypted video platform for eligible clients. Jane App is compliant with PIPEDA, the Alberta Health Information Act, and HIPAA. Online therapy is subject to the same professional and ethical standards as in-person services.
By engaging in telehealth services, you acknowledge that:
- Online therapy may not be appropriate for all presentations or clinical needs, and your therapist will advise if in-person care is recommended.
- You are responsible for ensuring a private, secure location during sessions.
- Technical difficulties may occasionally affect session delivery; in such cases, your therapist will contact you to reschedule or complete the session by phone where appropriate.
- Telehealth services are subject to the laws and professional standards of the Province of Alberta, regardless of your physical location at the time of the session.
