About Cheryl

Her name is Cheryl D. Patterson, and she is a registered psychologist based in Red Deer, Alberta. She graduated from the University of Regina with a B.Ed. in Adult Education in 1994. After that, she moved to Northern Saskatchewan and worked at Northlands College as an instructor in basic education and a life skills coach for 11 years. In 2004, she moved to Alberta to train as a marital and family therapist at Loma Linda University Campus in Lacombe. After graduating in 2007 as both a marital and family therapist and psychologist, she worked for Alberta Health Services in Child and Adolescent Psychology in High Prairie, Alberta. Later, she moved on to work for the High Prairie School Division as a Behavior Management Consultant.

In December of 2010, her family and she moved to Red Deer, and she worked as a mental health counselor for the Red Deer Primary Care Network. In 2011, she started her private practice part-time, and over the next two years, it grew into a full-time practice.

She has been married for over 34 years and has 3 adult daughters and 3 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys long evening walks, reading, writing, spending time with family and friends, knitting, cooking, gardening, visiting the mountains, and maintaining a healthy spiritual life.
