What Is PTSD?

I believe that proper counselling has the power to dramatically change lives. My services help people successfully navigate challenging life situations, for instance, the death of a loved one, divorce, childhood trauma, other traumas, academic stress, workplace injury, workplace bullying and harassment, and other work-related issues, to name a few.

I offer clients the tools along with insights required to manage, reduce, and hopefully eliminate various mental health issues. Ultimately, the only goal I have is to empower clients through counselling to help them lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Trauma

Traumas are any incident that has overwhelmed you and continues to linger with you for one to 2 weeks afterward. Even if you do not qualify for a full diagnosis of PTSD, emotions, and physical sensations from an overwhelmed nervous system can be unsettling. Maybe you have already gone to the doctor for something to calm you or help you sleep. Along with feeling edgy and sleeping issues, you may also be experiencing some of the following symptoms: nightmares, a knot in your stomach, insomnia, chest tightness, dizziness, losing track of time or a sense that the time of day feels wrong, muscle aches and pains, feeling shaky and just not yourself since the incident. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is an excellent choice to resolve these problems.

I have treated hundreds of clients for trauma. The majority of those have made a full recovery. Often with one session of A.R.T., it is now settled, and they can quickly move on from it. Even months afterward, A.R.T. has proven to provide a permanent solution to traumatic memories.
